This is chicory (Cichorium intybus), a common city weed. It's non-native, but it's still one of my favorites. I just love the delicate blue color. The young leaves can be eaten in salads and the roots can be roasted and ground to make a coffee substitute.

Here's a multiflora rose (Rosa multiflora) in Rock Creek Park. This is an exotic species from Asia which has spread from gardens and is now one of the most common wild roses in the area.
